Radio Riel begins regular programming on June 1 and will be on air every day from 4:00pm - 8:00pm SLT. Our goal is to provide historically appropriate music to listeners interested in the Victorian Era, as well as special programming for all residents of Second Life.
On Radio Riel, you will hear Classical, Baroque, Celtic, Folk, English Renaissance and late 19th Century Popular music. We will soon be establishing a weekly "contemporary" event, during which we will play a variety of 20th and 21st Century musical genres. Check out the Radio Riel Schedule at http://gabrielleriel.blogspot.com/ for more details.
Needless to say, it was a grand event, made even more enjoyable with the visit of the Guvn'r himeself, Mr. Desmond Shang... who had a special request for the partygoers. He needed over 100 avatars present to see how the sim would perform with this number of individuals... a call that all present Caledonians heeded (any excuse to go to a party, I'd say!) After a global, and enticements for certain benchmarks, the magic number was reached and apparently, inspite of the lag, the sim managed smartly!
At 80 avatars - slowing a bit....
At 100 avs - slowing but holding..
All I can say, is it is good to be back home *smile*!
A fantastic evening, and an opportunity to re-aquaint myself with the Caledonian society (I did receive a number of "Where the h... have you been?" IMs - lol), including seeing my friends, the inventive Miss Vi Pavarane and gracious (and notorious) Miss Hermoine Pennyfeather!
