Steampunk & Neo-Victorian Events: 12-13 September, 2009

The official wedding invitation...

This weekend looks to be quite busy, especially with a unique highlight taking place - the SL nuptials of Antiquity's Grand Duke Barrymore and Grand Duchess Magellan, which will be taking place on Saturday the 12th, officially beginning at 1pm, SLT. Having the distinct pleasure of meeting them since the early days of Antiquity (back in the summer of 2007), I was good to learn of their formal union in SL (as their locales keep them apart in RL by a substantial body of water)!

... and a photo of the couple (dated June of 2007 - afraid I don't have a more recent one!)

The wedding looks to be an impressive event - from the Tall Ship parade, to the wedding, and following reception, it looks to be a marvelous afternoon in Antiquity. For more details, please visit the Antiquity Gazette, at: http://antiquitygazette.blogspot.com/

Back in New Babbage, a number of other happenings are taking place, starting with the Sewer Trash contest, currently running until the 26th of September. Take the opportunity to add your small bit of debris to the new New Babbage Sewers! For more details, please turn to: http://newbabbage.ning.com/events/sewer-trash-build-contest

The good Duke of Argylle will be hosting "Breakfast in Babbage" earlier on Saturday, from 8 to 10 am, SLT. Do take an opportunity to experience the espionage side of Steampunk with a visit - for more information, please visit the New Babbage Ning, at: http://newbabbage.ning.com/events/breakfast-in-babbage-1

Finally, also on Saturday (from 11am to 1245 pm, SLT), there will be a "Conflict and Cooperation - Story Based RP Talk", a discussion focused on RP in New Babbage. Led by Dr. Obolensky, it will be the first official forum to address RP in New Babbage. To learn more regarding the event, please turn (again) to the New Babbage Ning, at: http://newbabbage.ning.com/events/conflict-and-cooperation
