To just about anyone familiar with the Hellboy, one will easily recognize that though the graphic novel / comic series takes place in the "current" time, there is quite a bit of Steampunk-eque gadgetry, odd (sometimes Cthulhu) mythos, and flashback harkening back to the Steampunk era.
