Steampunk Media: Quirk Classics - "Android Karenina" and "Dawn of the Dreadfuls"

To those who are fans of what has become known as the literary niche of "Quirk Classics", a new "mash up" novel will be released this summer.  Following in the footsteps of "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies", and "Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters", the new release of Tolstoy's classic "Anna Karenina" will be redone as "Android Karenina".  To quote a bit from the home site's narrative...

"As in the original novel, our story follows two relationships: The tragic adulterous love affair of Anna Karenina and Count Alexei Vronsky, and the more hopeful marriage of Nikolai Levin and Princess Kitty Shcherbatskaya. These characters live in a steampunk-inspired world of robotic butlers, clumsy automatons, and rudimentary mechanical devices. But when these copper-plated machines begin to revolt against their human masters, our characters must fight back using state-of-the-art 19th-century technology—and a sleek new model of ultra-human cyborgs like nothing the world has ever seen."

Looks to be an outstanding work and certain to be a "must read" for the Steampunk summer of 2010!  For more pre-reviews and information, please visit the following links...

An additional release, a prequel to "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" will be released in mid-to-late March.  It will follow the "early days" of Elizabeth Bennet, as she learns how to fight zombies (oh, and a "romance" of some sort, but really, its all about fighting the "Dreadfuls", isn't it?  For more information, please follow the links below…
