My apololies for the "aether silence", as I have been attending to a few RL issues, but I did receive notice of Abney Park's outstanding new single, "Steampunk Revolution"! This will be the lead track of their newest release, "Ancient World", which will be coming out this June... but for now, please do enjoy this well done production! As always, please consider a visit to their website, located at: www.abneypark.com! Please do enjoy!

IO9 had an excellent trailer on (hopefully) an upcoming animation endeavor regarding a young Russian aristocratic girl in search of her grandfather, who went missing during a "trip to conquer the North Pole". Not the classic Steampunk work, as it likely has minimal Steam technology, but it certainly appears to imbue a sense of adventure and exploration, and I'd argue that exploration is a staple of Steampunk!... Nonetheless, do consider a brief trip to the article in question, located at: http://io9.com/5896308/an-absolutely-gorgeous-animation-about-an-1800s-arctic-expedition

NeoVictoria has launched a very well done and comprehensive website regarding their Steampunk sim. With a plethora of added functionality, including videos, online books about NeoVictoria, a link to their Ning community website, photo feeds of events and happenings, and social connectivity, in my opinion, it is by far the best online SL Steampunk web hub - surpassing the more established entities in presenting a friendly face and ease of use. To pay a visit, please follow the copper wire to... http://flavors.me/neovictoria#_

Taking a bit opportunity to consolidate the selections for the upcoming update to the Steampunk Facebook Pages, so I'm posting a very smooth piece by a talented group, The Melting Clock, and their wonderful work, "Chasing the Dragon". If you happen to have a suggestion, please forward it to the new Steampunk Tribune address, TheSteampunkTribune2@yahoo.com (the previous address was being overrun with Facebook updates). Until then, please do enjoy!

Released today (from what I can divine), it actually looks a bit more intriguing than the previous trailer! Though it does stretch the physical abilites of the 16th president of the United States, I am quite intrigued by his very ingenious axe (at the end of the trailer) - please do enjoy!

From the good folks at Dieselpunks.org, I saw this very interesting piece about a group of "hacker-artists" known as "UX", who traverse the undergrounds of Paris, and engage in endeavors to repair historical treasures of the City of Lights. The piece above is a video of the repairs, but for a bit more, please visit the Dieselpunks.org entry, at: http://www.dieselpunks.org/profiles/blogs/real-life-clockwork-heroes, then follow it with the entire article at Wired.com, located at: http://www.wired.com/magazine/2012/01/ff_ux/all/1!

As a video interlude, the lovely Miss S.A. Westendorf provides the marvelous vocals to the single "Across the Stonewind Sky"! In addition, the accompanying video production has a very enjoyable narrative, or as its narrative describes...
"Possibly the world's first custom-written theme song to a book. Lyrics written in 2009, put to music in 2010 and first performed December 2010 at 'Prometheus Bound', Brisbane. There is a video on Youtube to prove it.
(The song is recorded in Book I of the "Across the Stonewind Sky" series by Ged Maybury, and features in a vaudeville hall scene in Book II of the ongoing series.)"
To obtain further information, please visit the Stonewind Sky's Facebook location, at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/210584830489/ , or consider a visit to the Itunes store for a copy of this amazing work, at: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/across-stonewind-sky-single/id489481553

The other day I had the good fortune of being contacted by a Miss A. Desjardins, who is working on her Masters degree, and is dilligently laboring to complete a study on the construct of objects and costumes in Steampunk. Needless to say, this is a grand opportunity to add to the growing academic work of Steampunk! As Miss Desjardins kindly explained...
I am a Masters student at Simon Fraser University - School of Interactive Arts and Technology in Vancouver, BC. I am conducting a study about the practice of making objects and costumes in Steampunk. I am particularly interested in understanding how you use and transform objects, tools and your environment in the practice of your hobby. I would love to meet people who make objects or costumes in a Steampunk fashion. If you are a Steampunk enthusiast, or know anyone who is, please let me know and I will send you more details about the study.
You can contact me at email@example.com "
If this requests piques your interest, please do send your requests to Miss Desjardins asap!

Finding a new online source of Steampunk information is always a great opportunity, so when I stumbled across the Clockwork Gazette's location, I was mightily impressed with their work so far! The above newsreel, Number 3, is an introspective by Mr. Painless Parker on Steampunk music. Quite intriguing, and infact, there are even more newsreels, all of which can be found at the Clockwork Gazette's website, which is located at: http://www.clockworkgazette.com/!
Also, do consider paying Mr. Parker a visit and enjoy his painfully beautiful site, located at: http://painlessparkermusic.com/
